Electromagnetic heater for a liquid

The baby feeding bottle heater comprises a base (4) on which the bottle (2) is intended to stand. The base supports a reflector (3) which is curved such that its hollow side faces and partially encloses the bottle. Inside the reflector there is a source of infrared heat (2) extending along an axis (2a) which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bottle. The shape of the reflector is such that IR radiation from the heater is reflected back towards the centre of the bottle. The wavelength of the IR is chosen so that the coefficient of absorption of energy by the liquid, and the coefficient of transmission of energy by the material of the bottle are both near to 100%. A wavelength between 0.8 um and 3 um is suitable.
