In a silicone composition comprising an aliphatic unsaturated group-containing diorganopolysiloxane and an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, there is blended a hydrosilylation catalyst. The catalyst is obtained by stabilizing a platinum group compound with an organopolysiloxane of formula (3):R4fR5g(CH3)hSiO(4-f-g-h)/2 (3)wherein R4 is a C2-8 aliphatic unsaturated group, R5 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group excluding an aliphatic unsaturated group and methyl group, letters f, g, and h are (f+g)/(f+g+h)>/=0.10, 0.0001<f</=2.0, and 1.8<f+g+h<2.205. The stabilized platinum group compound is included in a silicone resin comprising at least a R6SiO3/2 or SiO4/2 unit wherein R6 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, at least 10 mol % of the organic groups being the same group as R5, the silicone resin having a melting or softening point of 30 DEG to 200 DEG C. The composition has improved shelf stability and curing properties.
