PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-AIDS viral agent effective for the therapy of AIDS onset and reduced in side effects in order to deal with problems developed when a dideoxynucleotide such as AZT or ddI is administered singly. SOLUTION: This anti-AIDS viral agent contains, as active ingredient(s), at least one kind of crude drug selected from a crude drug group composed of Terminalia arjuna, Phellodendron amurence, Terminalia chebula, Rhus javanica, Punica granatum, Geum japonicum, Syzygium aromaticum, Paeonia suffruticosa, Alpinia officinarum.
