<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin for a blown bottle excellent in impact resistance and hot fill by using a specified dicarboxylic acid as the acid component and specifying the glass transition temperature. SOLUTION: This polyester resin made from an acid component containing 3-100mol%, based on the entire acid component, 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid or its esterifiable derivative and a diol component and has a glass transition temperature of 80 deg.C or above. This resin desirably has an intrinsic viscosity satisfying the following relationship as determined in the solution thereof in a phenol/1,1,2,2,-tetrachloroethane solvent mixture (weight ratio:1/1) at 25 deg.C: Intrinsic viscosity >=0.74-0.26×the rate (mol%) of modification of 2,6- naphthalenedicarboxylic acid component÷100. A blown bottle can be obtained by, e.g. direct blow molding.</p> |
