PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the friction coefficient and abrasion resistance of a friction material used for an automotive brake, etc. SOLUTION: In producing a friction material formed by molding a mixture comprising a resin and a base material, a calcium titanate [CaTiO3 ] powder having an average particle size of 1-20μm is used as the base material.
