PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain an alkoxysilane in a rational procedure by carrying out a reaction of silicone and alcohol in liquid phase. SOLUTION: Generally, a reaction of a silicone metal powder of 80-99% purity and average particle size <=500μm with alcohol preferably methanol is carried out in the presence of a copper catalyst. In the induction period of the reaction, the alcohol is supplied in gas phase but after the reaction start is detected by the generation of reaction heat, it is supplied in liquid state and at the final stage of the reaction, it is supplied again in gaseous state. The ratio of gaseous alcohol and liquid alcohol is adjusted to keep the reaction temperature at 200-250 deg.C. |
