PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a fiber product with a resin into the fiber product excellent in wrinkle resistance and shrinking resistance and good in the processing effects without generating free formalin by imparting a treating liquid containing a dihydroxyketone or its derivative to the fiber product. SOLUTION: This method for processing the fiber product with the resin comprises immersing the fiber product such as a broad cotton fabric subjected to a fluorescent bleaching treatment in a treating solution containing a dihydroxyketone of the formula (R<1> and R<2> are H or a lower alkyl) or its derivative, preferably dihydroxyacetone dimer, and a crosslinking catalyst such as magnesium dichloride, equally squeezing the immersed fiber product with a mangle to leave the treating solution in an amount of 0.5-10wt.% in the fiber product, and further subjecting the treated fiber product to an intermediate drying treatment and a curing treatment to obtain the resin-processed fiber product. |
