PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce and remove nitrogen oxides by composing an exhaust gas purifying material of a first catalyst wherein an element selected from a group consisting of silver, Co and the like or a compd. thereof is supported on porous inorg. oxide and a second catalyst wherein an element selected from a group consisting of copper, platinum and the like or a compd. thereof is supported on the porous inorg. oxide and specifying the components and support amts. of the respective catalysts. SOLUTION: This exhaust gas purifying material reduces and removes nitrogen oxides from combustion exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides and oxygen lager than a stoichiometric reaction quantity to a coexisting non-combustion component. This exhaust gas purifying material is composed of a first catalyst formed by supporting 0.2-10wt.% (in terms of metal element) of one or more kinds of elements selected from a group consisting of silver, cobalt and tin and/or a compd. thereof on porous inorg. oxide and a second catalyst formed by supporting 0.05-5wt.% (in terms of metal element) of one or more kinds of elements selected from a group consisting of copper, Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ir and Au and/or a compd. thereof on porous inorg. oxide. |
