PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent containing a specific organic acid alone or together with an acid such as adipic acid, succinic acid or sulfuric acid, and capable of controlling various algae and adhered bacteria such as brown rot bacteria in a short time without damaging the laver itself. SOLUTION: This agent contains methanesulfonic acid as an active ingredient. The methane sulfonic acid may be contained in a concentration of 0.05W/V%. The agent may further contain at least one kind selected from the group consisting of adipic acid, succinic acid, monochloroacetic acid, dichloroacetic acid, trichloroacetic acid, citric acid, gluconic acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, maleic acid, malic acid, propionic acid, acetic acid, glutaric acid, butyric acid, ketoglutaric acid, acrylic acid, malonic acid, and crotonic acid in addition to the methanesulfonic acid. Therein, the concentration of the methanesulfonic acid aqueous solution is <=0.3W/V%, and the latter acid is applied in a concentration of 0.01-0.3W/V% in the aqueous solution. |
