The iron operates with reduced energy consumption and is used without any smooth hard surface on which the clothes are pressed in ironing. It can be used for ironing of clothes worn by people and on coat-hangers. The iron consists of a lower smooth plate (1) having electric heater (2), handle (3) and decorative cover (4) mounted to it. There are multiple apertures (6) and a cavity (5) in plate (1) connected to a vacuum pump (7) mounted under the decorative cover (4). A regulation unit (8) and button (9) for switching the vacuum pump (7) are connected to handle (3) and decorative cover (4). Electric heaters (2), regulation unit (8), vacuum pump (7) and button (9) for its switching are interconnected by a specific electric circuit guaranteeing their operation. The electric circuit of the iron is connected by a flex (10) ending with a plug (11).
