ANTISLIP COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wear-resistant antislip coating composition which can be evenly applied to e.g. the steps of stairs by adding a powder of a polymer such as nylon or Teflon(R) to a coating material. SOLUTION: This antislip coating composition is prepared by adding a powder (B) of a polymer to a coating material (A). Component B is desirably a nylon powder or a Teflon(R) powder having a Shore hardness of about 50-100. The particle diameter of the powder is desirably 20-50μm. The amount of component B added is suitably 0.5-15% based on the weight of the solid matter of component A. Component A used is a known top-coating material such as a two-package urethane resin coating material, a two-package alkyd resin coating material or a polyester coating material. This composition can be evenly applied to wooden steps to form antislip coating films of well-matched decorativeness on them.
