摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the plasticizer resistance, oil resistance and water resistance of a thermal recording material formed by providing a thermal recording layer containing a fluorane compd. represented by formula having a phenolic OH group protected by a substituent in its molecule on a support as a dye precursor. SOLUTION: A thermal recording material is formed by providing a thermal recording layer containing a fluorane compd. represented by formula (wherein X is a functional group being a substituent of an OH group and capable of being dissociated under an acidic condition, R1 and R2 are independently a hydrogen atom, a 1-20C alkyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, R3 is a hydrogen atom, a 1-4C lower alkyl group or a halogen atom and R4 is a hydrogen atom, a 1-4C lower alkyl group, a halogen atom, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a nitro group, an amino group or an acyl group) on a support. A leuco dye, an electron acceptive coupler and a sensitizer can be together used in the thermal recording layer.
