PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a bag body to an area close to the head of an occupant after the bag body has been developed by providing the bag body capable of being developed at the side of the head of the occupant when required, at the side upper part of a cabin, and also providing a loop part through which a shoulder webbing for an occupant installation is inserted, for the bag body. SOLUTION: Gas generated by an inflator 38 flows in the inside of a bag body 26 at the time of collision and the like, and a thin wall part formed in an air bag cover 24 is ruptured by the pressure of the air bag 26 expanded, so that the air bag cover 24 is thereby developed. As a result, the bag body 26 keeps expanding toward a cabin from a housing space formed out of an air bag case and the air bag cover 24. Accompanied with the aforesaid expansion, a ring part (loop part) 58 is moved to the cabin side from below while being guided by a webbing 62 inserted through the ring part 58. After the bag body 26 has been developed, since the movement of the bag body 26 to the outside of a vehicle is restricted by the webbing 62, the bag body 26 is thereby retained at an area close to the head of an occupant. |
