PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric lock free from risk that the pass number is known without impairing the convenience in its being used, by changing the input position of the ten-key through movement of a symbol group only by the unit of line or column. SOLUTION: An electric lock is equipped with a display panel 12 having a symbol group 11 consisting of (m) lines and (n) columns (m, n are integer) and display divisions in M×N pieces (M>m, N>n) and transparent key switch sheets corresponding to the display divisions. Among the symbol group of (m) lines and (n) columns a display pattern is previously set for each operating motion of the electric lock as obtained by moving a specific line or column within the display panel. One of the display patterns is selected, and the signal from the transparent key switch on the selected display pattern is emitted. The emitted signal is compared with the pass number set previously to judge if it is right, and unlocking is made depending upon the result from judgement. Because the arrangement pattern of the symbol group 11 displayed on the panel 12 is changed each time locking and unlocking is made, there is no risk that any third party can know the number.
