PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily form a joined body of porous metallic bodies having various shapes free from change in the structure in their joint parts by joining the porous metallic bodies having a three-dimensional meshlike skeletal structure to each other with a specified adhesive. SOLUTION: A foamable slurry contg. 30 to 80% metallic powder of iron, copper and others having an average grain size of <=500μm, 2 to 20% water-soluble resin binder, such as methyl cellulose, 0.5 to 5% foaming agent, such as hydrocarbon-based org. solvent of 5 to 8C, such as pentane, and 0.5 to 3% surfactant, such as alkyl benzene sulfonate is applied as the joining agent on the joint surfaces of the spongy porous metallic bodies having the foamed structure consisting of a three-dimensional meshlike skeletal structure produced by molding the foamable slurry contg. the metallic powder and subjecting the molding to drying and sintering at the time of producing the products having various kinds of the shapes by joining the porous metallic bodies described above to each other. The porous metallic bodies are then adhered to each other and are sintered after molding. Even the porous metallic bodies varying in porosity are easily joined and the porous metallic body products having various shapes are thus easily produced.
