PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant-modulus alloy with high magnetic permeability and a method for producing it, by examining the chemical composition of an alloy and heat treatment conditions, respectively. SOLUTION: This alloy is a constant-modulus alloy which has a composition consisting of, by mass, 45.0-50.0% Ni, 3.0-5.0% Cr, 1.5-3.0% Ti, one or >=2 kinds among <=1% Si, <=1% Mn, and <=1% Al, and the balance essentially Fe and in which a thermoelastic modulus (α) between 0 and 80 deg.C and a magnetic permeability (μ) are regulated to (-30 to +30)×10<-6> / deg.C and >=1,500, respectively. This constant-modulus alloy can be produced by subjecting an alloy of the composition to hot working or hot working and cold working, to annealing at >=800 deg.C, and then to cooling while regulating the cooling rate down to 300 deg.C to >=300 deg.C/H.
