Disclosed is a method and apparatus for booking record within a VCR. The apparatus comprises tuning and amplifying means, an ACSS means, a key input means and a microcomputer. The tuning and amplifying means tune and amplify the broadcasting signal received. The ACSS means sets current time according to the visual information data in the broadcasting signal. The key input means inputs arbitrary information of booking record. The microcomputer sets current time by controlling the ACSS means when power source is switched as ON state, and performs booking record by the information from a random access memory. Thereby, the booking information stored is not erased nevertheless the power source is in OFF state, so that the booking record is safely performed without a backup condenser.
