Subtitle data inputted from a demultiplexor is written to a code buffer (02) via a code buffer interface (00). Header information of subtitle data read-out from the code buffer (02) is detected and divided by a header detector (03) and provided to a subtitle controller (01). The subtitle controller (01) holds the top address of the page currently being presented, the top address of the next page, and the top address of a further next page address which are provided by the header detector (03), and controls reading from the code buffer (02) based on these addresses. |
