PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form the image of a specific color plate from the images of the plural color plates including YMC plates by determining the density of the specific color plate according to an assigned relation when the color elements in the color image coincide with the previously assigned relation. SOLUTION: The page data expressing the one-page image to be processed is first read from a hard disk device 40 into an image memory 24 and an operator sets the density values (pseudo color values) of the respective YMCK plates corresponding to the specific density of the specific color plate. Next, one is retrieved as the image part to be processed from the image parts included in the one-page image. A color element selecting means 50 retrieves the elements of the color within the image part to be processed and acquires the color element data to be subjected to conversion processing. Next, a density value comparing means 52 judged whether the density values of the respective YMCK values acquired by the color element selecting means 50 and the preset pseudo color images are respectively perfectly coincident with each other or not. A color element converting means 54 changes the density values of the YMCK plates of the color element to be processed to 0 and changes the density value of the specific color plate to the assigned density value in the case of the perfect coincidence. |
