PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or resolve the overlap phenomenon. SOLUTION: In an optical system in a stereo image pickup device, in which information light for the right eye and that for the left eye are taken in through two openings 2R, 2L provided in positions a predetermined distance away from each other in the horizontal direction and are brought close to each other by an anamorphic mirror 1, and in which both of the information light beams passed through the anamorphic mirror 1 are focused to right and left different areas on a single image pickup device CCD by means of a lens system, the anamorphic mirror 1 has nonreflective areas 5, 5 for keeping the portions of both information light beams which come close to each other from being guided to the CCD. |
