SURFACE MELTING FURNACE USING GAS FUEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the melt treatment capacity, an initial cost and a running cost by heating and melting a matter to be melted such as incineration slag by a combustion flame from a gas burner for burning a gas fuel with air provided on the ceiling of the body of a melting furnace to miniaturize the body of the melting furnace and other equipment. SOLUTION: A gas fuel 14 such as city gas, LPG or LNG is supplied to a melting/solidifying treatment equipment and after a reduction in pressure, it is supplied to a gas burner 5 of a surface melting furnace 1 being controlled by a combustion controller 13. The gas burner 5 is provided on the ceiling 4 of the body of the melting furnace and supported securely on the surface of the matter 7 to be melted such as incineration slag and crushed incombustible of city garbage at a roughly vertical attitude. Combustion air from a force blower 12 is heated by a radiation type air preheater 10 and then, supplied to the gas burner 5 being controlled by a combustion controller 13. Thus, the matter 7 to be melted is melted sequentially by a flame radiated vertically toward the melting surface 7a of the matter 7 to be melted.
