<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photocoupler having monolithic structure in which erroneous function and crosstalk are prevented through perfect optical and electrical interchannel isolation and I/O isolation. SOLUTION: The optically coupled semiconductor device comprises a supporting substrate 1, a plurality of semiconductor regions 43-44 formed thereon, isolation layers 31, 32 formed between respective semiconductor regions in order to isolate the adjacent semiconductor layers electrically and having refractive index lower than that of semiconductor in the semiconductor region, a light emitting element 5 formed in one of the plurality of semiconductor regions 41-44 arbitrarily, an element 6 for receiving the light emitted from the light emitting element formed in another semiconductor region where the light emitting element is not formed, and an optical waveguide 7 connecting the light emitting face of light emitting element with the light receiving face of light receiving element.</p> |
