The cleaner has a main pipe (5) floating in the water and a branch pipe (12) connected to the first. The branch pipe has an upper end to be supported by the main pipe on the surface of the water. The branch pipe is heavier than the water. The distal end (14) of the branch pipe rests below the surface level of the water. The branch pipe is formed of a material with a shape and size to aid a wriggling effect of the pipe under the reaction force from the water exiting the outlet.
