PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deterioration of transfer performance even in the long- distance communication by providing subordinate ACK units, and dividing and successively transferring packets. SOLUTION: Data 203 transmitted from a computer 201 are divided into packets 208 as three subordinate ACK units in a communication controller 205. In addition to user data 209, each packet 208 contains added tags of the identifier 210 of a transmission destination, a flag 211 indicating that the packet is divided, the identifier 212 of the packet, the number 213 of divisions, a division identifier 214 indicating the order after the division, and the time 215 when the packet is transmitted. A communication controller 206 having received it removes the tags from each packet to compose the original data 204. The communication controller 206 sends back ACK 207 showing the completion of transmission, packet by packet. At this time, if one of the three sent packets has a defect in transmission, its contents are written in ACK 207 and then the communication controller 205 resends only the packet corresponding to the ACK.
