PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form electric field capable of completely restraining the offset and the scattering of toner without the fear of leakage in a film heating system fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with a heating body 12, and a rotary elastic pressure roller 5 forming a heating nip part by interposing and press-contacting a heat transfer member 2 by the heating body 12; the member 2 is driven to be moved while the heating nip part is brought into tight contact with the heating body 12; and voltage is impressed on the roller 5, and a material to be recorded on which an unfixed toner image is carried is introduced between the member 2 and the roller 5 at the heating nip part, then the heating nip part is interposed, fed and moved together with the member 2 so as to heat the unfixed toner image at the heating nip part by the heating body 12 through the member 2 and fix it on the material to be recorded. The roller 5 used in this fixing device is provided with an insulating surface layer 52 as the outermost layer and at least one low resistance layer 53 on which the voltage is impressed on the inside of the layer 52, and the side surfaces of both ends of the roller are coated with insulating bodies 54. |
