<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on a transmission source node and to prevent enlargement of a circuit scale at the time of executing intra-network multicasting in an ATM switch functioning as an exchange at the time of data communication by ATM. SOLUTION: In a network interface IF provided for the ATM switch, a header generation part 11 generates headers H1 , H2 and H3 which respectively contain VCI/VPI of transmission destination nodes based on a multicasting identifier when a cell Ce containing an intra-network multicasting identifier is given. A data synthesis/transmission part 13 reads a data part D held in a buffer 12 wherever the headers H1 , H2 and H3 are given. Namely, the data part D is copied. The data synthesis/transmission part 13 synthesizes the headers H1 , H2 and H3 with the data part D, generates newly cells Ce1 , Ce2 and Ce3 and transmits them to a communication line network. Thus, the intra-network multicasting can be realized in the ATM switch.</p> |
