A templet for a rasping machine for rasping tyre bodies preparatory to retreading, by means of a tool having a transverse movement about the body, is adjustable to enable the machine to be fitted to the various sizes of bodies. As described, a rasp is guided by a roller g which co-operates with the edges of a templet formed by plates 10, 11 selected to correspond to the nominal size of the tyre to be treated. The actual size is measured by outside calipers and a rod 20 is rotated correspondingly by operation of a wheel and drive 23, 24 so that tubular nuts 14, 16 and the plates 10, 11 secured thereto move in opposite directions, guided by pins 31... 33 until the desired adjustment of the templet is effected.</p> |
