The object of the invention is a ready-to-use composition for the oxidation dyeing of keratin fibres, particularly human keratin fibres such as hair, containing, in an acid medium (pH < 7), one or more oxidation bases, combined with 4-hydroxyindolin as a coupling agent and an oxidising agent, as well as a dyeing method using the composition.
