PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an optical deflecting and scanning device by constituting an image forming lens system in three dimensions. SOLUTION: The scanning light L1 of a rotary polygon mirror 1 is imaged on a photoreceptor on a rotary drum arranged outside an optical box 4 through the image forming lens system 2 constituted in three dimensions. The image forming lens system 2 has a compound lens consisting of a spherical lens 2a and a toric lens 2b which are put together one over the other in three dimensions and united and a couple of reflecting mirrors 2c which reflect the scanning light L1 passed through the spherical lens 2a upward and then inverts it to make the light incident on the toric lens 2b, and the scanning light L1 passes over the rotary polygon mirror 1 and is guided out of the optical box 4 through a nearby window 6. |
