PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color correction method in which high precision color correction including lightness and saturation of a desired color is conducted. SOLUTION: After a 3-color signal CMY1 is converted into a hue signal H, a lightness signal L, and a saturation signal S by an HLS conversion circuit 30, a hue direction intensity calculation circuit 36 obtains a hue direction intensity signal. On the other hand, a lightness saturation direction intensity calculation circuit 38 obtains a lightness saturation direction intensity signal. A multiplier circuit 40 multiplies the intensity signals to obtain a corrected intensity signal for each color and a multiplier circuit 42 multiplies a desired collection coefficient with the correction intensity signal for each color and unit color correction signals ur, uy, ug,..., um obtained by unit color correction signal calculation circuits 32R, 32Y, 32G,..., 32M are added to obtain one of 4-color correction signalΔCMYK3 .
