PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a color filter with simple and low process cost and good production yield to obtain a color filter having good heat resistance, chemical resistance and dimensional accuracy. SOLUTION: After a color coating film (R, G, B) 2 is transferred from a dry film 4 having the color coating film 2 to a relief printing plane 6 made of a polyurethane resin having a specified pattern, the transferred color coating film 2 is further transferred to a glass substrate 8 to form a color pattern. This transfer process is repeated for each color to produce a color filter. As for the resin which constitutes the relief printing plane 6, a photosensitive resin such as a photopolymerizable polyimide resin is used. By forming the pattern by photolithography including exposure, development and cleaning, a color pattern having higher dimensional accuracy can be formed.
