PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect even such a case where the normal recording is impossible due to clogging by recording repetitively a specific mark at least twice or more and carrying out the control so as to set these recording positions close to each other at a place near a prescribed position. SOLUTION: In a thinning print mode, a footer mark 57b is shifted in the main scanning direction by a dot and printed reciprocatively together with the control carried out to secure the footer mark print of the same black rate as a footer mark 57a. In this control, the reflected light is reduce to a photosensor like the mark 57a in a normal print mode. As a result, the wrong detection is avoided for the remaining amount of ink and the reliability is improved for a recorder. The same effect is also secured even when the mark 57b is shifted in the subscanning direction by a dot and printed reciprocatively instead of the main scanning direction. Furthermore, the mark 57b is shifted in both main scanning and subscanning directions and the black rate is increased only at a part of the footer marks 57, i.e., the detecting position of the photosensor to secure the same effect. |
