PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a cover substantially and, further, reduce the whizzing noise in comparison with a conventional metal pantograph cover by a method wherein a pantograph cover consists of a one-piece structure of ceramics having electrically insulating properties. SOLUTION: A pantograph cover is manufactured in processes as follows: Raw material→Weighing→Compounding→Mixing→Maturing→Slurry→Casting in a gypsum mold→Removal from the mold→drying→Baking→Finish. Or, the pantograph cover may be manufactured in dry processes as follows: Raw material→Weighing→Compounding→Mixing→Maturing→Granulation→Mold filling→Molding→Removal from the mold→Baking→Finish. With these processes, a pantograph cover consisting of a one-piece structure of ceramics can be manufactured with fine and uniform texture and density at the time of baking and a pantograph cover with very few defects such as crackings can be obtained. As a result, a pantograph cover which has reduced weight and excellent dielectric strength in comparison with a metal pantograph cover can be obtained.
