PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit adjusting work for the judgement of a vehicle sort and to improve the accuracy of vehicle sort judgement. SOLUTION: This vehicle sort judging device is provided with a video camera 11, an A/D conversion part 12, a feature extracting part 13, a vehicle recognition part 14, a statistic processing part 15, a vehicle width parameter generating part 16, a vehicle width parameter variation monitoring part 17, a vehicle sort judging part 18, a D/A converter 19, and a display part 20. The parameter value of each vehicle sort is automatically determined based upon the statistic data of vehicle feature information extracted by the constitution. The parameter value of each vehicle sort is corrected following the variation of the statistic data of the vehicle feature information. The obtained parameter value is compared with the data of a vehicle passing at present to judge the vehicle sort. |
