PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of communication nodes and to reduce the cost by using a control packet node to detect the arrangement of wavelengths, sending wavelength control information of an adjacent channel and using a communication node to control the transmission wavelength. SOLUTION: A control packet node is provided to a wavelength multiplex communication system and a control signal from a wavelength control system 41 is outputted to a wavelength variable filter 42 via a wavelength variable filter drive circuit 43. A peak wavelength of a transmission spectrum from an optical fiber 38 is swept and converted into an electric signal by a light receiving element 44 and outputted to an identification device 46 via an amplifier 45. Based on an output signal of the identification device 46, a wavelength arrangement of the wavelength multiplex communication system is detected and a wavelength control packet is created by the packet communication system and an LD 47 is driven by an LD drive circuit 48 and the wavelength of each communication node is controlled via an optical fiber 37. Thus, it is not required for a wavelength variable filter to detect the wavelength arrangement for the communication node and the configuration is simplified and the cost is reduced. |
