<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the running of a magnetic tape at a first speed from the timing capable fixing an on-track position predicted by observing the change in a tracking state in the state that the magnetic tape is offset from the first speed to a second speed when the running speed of the magnetic tape is transited to the same first speed as the time at a recording time. SOLUTION: A part surrounded by a broken line is processed by software, and a target value 22 of an ATF error is subtracted 23 from the ATF error digitized by an A/D converter 21 to generate a phase error. Then, a servo operation 24 such as integration and gain adjustment 25 are applied to the phase error. Further, the gap of a capstan FG is measured 26, and after the gap is coverted into a capstan speed, the target value 28 of the capstan speed is subtracted 29 therefrom to generate a speed error. Then, the servo operation 30 such as the integration and the gain adjustment 31 are applied to the speed error. Then, the phase error and the speed error subjected to the servo operation and the gain adjustment are added 32 and imparted to a capstan driver as a capstan control signal. Thus, the capstan control is performed.</p> |
