<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having transparent pixel electrodes and liquid crystal microcapsules layers which are excellent in characteristics. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has an array substrate formed with thin-film transistors(TFTs) 102, signal lines 104 and scanning lines 103 on an insulating substrate 101, an insulating films 105 formed on the array substrate, first pixel electrodes 106 of prescribed shapes formed on these insulating films 105 and electrically connected to either of the source electrodes or drain electrodes of the corresponding TFTs, the first liquid crystal microcapsule layers 107 formed on the insulating films from the upper side of these pixel electrodes 106 and UV light shielding films 108 formed on the liquid crystal microcapsule layers 107. Further, the liquid crystal display device includes the second pixel electrodes 109 of prescribed shapes formed on the UV light shielding films 108 and electrically connected to the other of the source electrodes or drain electrodes of the corresponding TFTs and the second liquid crystal microcapsule layers 107 formed on the UV light shielding films 108 from the upper side of the pixel electrodes 109.</p> |
