Rice cakes for making the confection known as "nems" are manufactured in the claimed invention. A number of moulds (2) are positioned on an endless conveyor (1). Each mould has an impression the same diameter and depth as a finished cake. The uncooked dough is relatively liquid, and the required volume (7) is dosed (6) into each mould in turn. The dough is cooked in a tunnel oven (12), to the required dryness. The cakes can then be removed (15) from their moulds. |
