Window fastening with top and bottom catches

The fastening has two rods (3) which operate catches at the top and bottom of the window. The rods are rotated by a central member (5) with a pressure tip (12) and a slot (9) for a rotary handle (6). The central member has two coaxial sockets to receive the rods ends. Each socket has a tapering inner surface and a lengthwise rib to engage with a matching groove (15) in the rod to prevent it from rotating independently of the socket.
