An articulated rail connection is disclosed for profiled running rails of suspended monorail conveyors. A filler piece made of steel is fitted between adjacent bottom flanges of the profiled running rails. The bottom parts of the filler piece are designed as a swivelling bearing that extends in the longitudinal direction of the bottom flanges. A swivelling socket and a swivelling ball that co-operates with the swivelling socket allow a swivelling bearing to be obtained with high longitudinal and lateral stability, on the one hand by means of wing segments and on the other hand by means of guiding grooves and cams. The suspended monorail conveyor may thus be used to transport heavy loads. |
