Atomic absorption spectrophotometer with light source and photo-detector

The spectrophotometer has a light source (1), a photo detector (13) and two or more types of sample atomising systems (3,5) arranged one behind the other in an optical path. The two atomising systems are so arranged that the burner type sample atomising system (5) is positioned between the electrothermal sample atomising system and the photo detector. A lamp control system (20) supplies a lamp current to the light source, which is comprised of a DC current and a superimposed low frequency pulse current. A LF amplifier (14) amplifies the LF output signal of the photo detector. The LF frequency amplifier carries out the amplification synchronously with the lamp current supplied by the lamp control system to the light source.
