New compounds have the general formula (I): M - L, in which M stands for a radio-isotope of Tc or Re and L stands for a ligand having the general formula (II): B-CR<1>R<2>-(CR<3>R<4>)n=1,2-S-CHR<5>-CHR<6>-SO2-NH-CR<7>R<8>-(CR<9>R< 10>)m=1,2-D, in which R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4>, R<5>, R<6>, R<7>, R<8>, R<9> and R<10> may have various meanings and B and D stand for another group which is suitable for binding metal ions by coordination and for coupling to selectively enriching compounds. Coupling to selectively enriching compounds may alternatively also be mediated by R<8>. These new compounds are useful for complexing technetium and rhenium and are used for medical diagnosis and therapy.
