Automatic edge grinding equipment for wood and plastic

The grinding equipment has a vertical drive shaft (5) which is belt driven by a drive motor (1). The shaft has a central bearing (6) with a tilt axis (7). The bottom end of the shaft has a magnetic position control comprising a magnetised rotating centre (14) and an outer electro-magnet. Two inductive sensors (12,13) monitor the deflection of the shaft. The required deflection is set by a control and provides the required grinding force. The belt drive is doubled with parallel belt drives straddling the central bearing.
