FIELD: gastrointestinal investigations. SUBSTANCE: essentially wide-spread infantile gastroduodenal diseases, possibility of development of severe complications stipulate necessity of primary prophylaxis proceedings oriented to children from risk group in respect to given pathology. Increased acid-peptic activity of gastric juice causes, in many cases, dysfunction of gastro-duodenal zone. Presently, to evaluate state of enzyme and acid-forming functions of stomach, methods involving gastric tube utilization are used. These are badly tolerated by children and not always reflect acid-peptic activity of gastric juice. Method of invention makes it possible to reveal children with increased proteolytic properties of gastric juice from the data obtained from urine examination. Proteolytic activity of uropepsinogen evaluated by method of invention was proved to be directly related with indexes of intragastral proteolysis. Close correlation between elevated values of proteolytic activity of uropepsinogen and duodenal ulcer was shown. Indexes of proteolytic activity of uropepsinogen are characterized with bimodal distribution, which fact evidences genetic determinacy of the feature in population. So the method enables selecting children with hereditary predisposition to duodenal ulcer, carrying out differential diagnostics, predicting course of disease, and substantiating measures directed to primary prophylaxis of peptic duodenal ulcer formation. Areas where invention may be applied are: children's out-patient departments, gastrocenters, somatic and specialized gastroenterological in-patient departments, sanatoria, preschool and school children's establishments. Use of the method in therapeutic practice is not also excluded. EFFECT: hereditary predisposition to duodenal ulcer is biochemically substantiated. |
