Traction control system for hydraulically driven vehicles

The system has a forward and a rear drive unit with a variable speed hydraulic motors (16,18) connected to the forward and/or rear drive unit. A pulse transducer (26,28) connected to each drive unit monitors the speed and direction of the drive unit. A gradient detection unit monitors the gradient of a driving surface. A controller (24) is electrically connected to each motor, to each transducer and to the gradient sensor and controls the motors according to the detected speeds, directions and gradient.
