Electric fuel pump outlet unit

The DC motor driven fuel pump has an improved assembly with an inner cover (32) and an outer cover (30). The inner cover has guides (80) for the carbon brushes (64,62). Tags (75,76) are connected to the brushes by wires (78) and the tags are located in slots in the inner cover. This provides a simple contact with contact tags on the outer cover. The outer cover contact tags have a sliding contact with the inner tags and are attached to spade terminals (94,96) which form the final contacts for the pump. The whole assembly is suited for robotic assembly. The outer cover also has a space for choke coils linked to the motor circuit.
