In a system for supplying up-to-date information to a computer user, a storage device is supplied to the user. Stored in the storage device is user information, such as audiovisual and/or alphanumeric data, for reproduction by the computer, together with access data defining a connection to an information source, or a plurality of information sources, for supplying up-to-date information to the computer. The storage device also contains instructions for causing the computer to convert up-to-date information received from an information source in accordance with a style particular to that source to a reproduction style compatible with that of the user information in the storage device. The system has particular application in computer graphics, and to CD-ROMs containing music videos and encyclopedias for which up-to-date information can be supplied. <IMAGE> |
