FIELD: animal catching devices of killing type. SUBSTANCE: animal trap has seven different parts made from wire and interconnected without welding and riveting, two V-shaped springs made from high-quality steel, base formed as H-shaped column 1 with triangular supports 10. V-shaped springs are fixed on straight side portions of H-shaped column and may be displaced on annular loops 9. Springs are provided with protective members 3 and two pressing members 4,5 functioning as striking members, which effectuate killing action upon animal in vertical plane from top. Alerting mechanism has catching lever 6 pivotally connected with upper part of column, two shackles-eyelets 12 for securing catching lever 6 and restricting motion of spring levers only in vertical direction, arced catch 7 with two loop-shaped projections 13 for movable connection with shackles and retaining upper pressing member during action of alerting mechanism. Retainer 8 is pivotally connected with lower pressing member 5 and have projection 14 for retaining catching lever 6 at alerting moment. Retainer has high alerting capacity and allows animal to penetrate deep into trap opening by varying height and angle relative to column surface.
