<p>A socket wrench extension includes an axial bore (13) for receiving a rod (20) and includes an opening (11) and an orifice (14) for receiving a ball (15) and an actuator (30). The actuator (30) includes a tapered surface (32) for moving the rod (20) inward of the axial bore (12). The rod (20) includes an aperture (21) for engaging with the actuator (30) and a cavity (22,23) for receiving the ball (15). A spring (24) biases the rod (20) to move the ball (15) partially outward of the opening so as to engage with a socket member. The ball (15) is received in the cavity (14) when the rod (20) is moved inward by the actuator (30). The elements may be easily assembled in the extension. <IMAGE></p> |
