The anti-vibration device comprises a carrier element (51) and a carried element (52) lying facing each other with a space between them and linked together by a number of cable segments (53-56). The cable segments are each curved into a c-shape with an end embedded in each of the two elements. The carrier and carried elements may also be linked together by two stabilising lamellae (57,58). These are of the same general configuration as the cables and lie adjacent to the support cables.
